Our welcome dinner is a seafood degustation.

Each day we discover and explore a new town.

The Baroque valley of Ragusa

This is where Mr Granita man photo was taken on our first tour in 2013. The late Don Giugginu was very obliging to allow Gina to capture this truly memorable photo in the middle of the main street of Modica. No one will ever forget Mr Granita Man. Modica is home to Sicily's most famous granita vendor, Sicilian chocolate and the best ricotta cannoli in the world.

The balcony of Sicily

One of Gina’s favourite little towns. A place where time has stood still. The locals chat in the piazza each day in their best dressed attire. The 14th century arched entrance takes you through to the medieval quarter, tiny laneways & aristocratic homes.

Baroque architecture, palaces & gothic chapels

This town was an all time favourite with our last photography workshop.

This characteristic town has it all

We visit the busy Saturday morning markets here, a photo opportunity on every turn. We stop in for a typical Sicilian Salsiccia BBQ at Mrs Melanzana’s tomato & eggplant farm.

The charming Baroque town in the Val di Noto

We take a stroll down through the main piazza, harmonious in its wholeness and adorned with aristocratic architecture. We go exploring & head up to the the top of the hill via tiny laneways & rocky steps.

There is only one word to describe this town - spectacular!

The main material used on these buildings is limestone and at sunset it can provide one of the best backdrops for simply breathtaking photos. We’ll pop in to Cafe Sicilia, voted the world’s best gelato.

We visit CALTAGIRONE, LICATA & many more towns along the way in the Ragusa & Siracusa region.

Photography by Gina Milicia

“I have been taking pictures for most of my life. Generally speaking, I thought the pics were pretty good. But I just kept wondering why I could’t produce a picture that made me go WOW! My how things have changed. Thanks to you Gina. Your teaching style is right on the mark.

Within a very short space of time, you were able to demystify the art of photography and give me a simple and clear understanding of how things work. More importantly you have reignited my passion for photography as an art form and as a vehicle to express myself. As if teaching me to be a better photographer wasn’t enough, you also introduced me to the mind blowing magic of Lightroom. WOW WOW WOW. Now I don’t just get to shoot pictures, I transform into artist mode and get to develop them just the way I want.”

FRANK ROMANO AUS (June 2016 participant)

“I learnt the rules for taking better-than-good pics, but at the same time, to experiment and dare to be different. I learnt to look at a subject and frame it in a number of ways, visualising the finished product and imagining what it could be.

The most valuable part of the experience was learning that if you want to be a better-than-average photographer you cannot be shy (or even just a little daring), you have to be confident in your own ability, and a touch of ‘crazy’ can sometimes be a big help. Gina is well qualified to teach all those things. It changed my approach completely. I now see excellent subjects I have never noticed before. I can now produce pics that tell their own story and enhance everything I write.”

ROGER PLASTOW AUS (June 2014 tour participant)

“You helped me see the ‘light’ when shooting people – to engage with them (despite language barriers), to observe their behaviors, and what they were doing, to connect prior to shooting – doing so enriches both the subject and the photographer.”

DARREL VICKERS USA (May 2013 tour participant)

"If you’re serious about taking your photography to the next level what better opportunity than spending a week with Australia’s leading photographer in Sicily. Gina will walk you thru, step-by-step, exactly how to master street photography and get gorgeously lit portraits. Don’t understand something about your camera or lighting or posing or photography business? You’ll have plenty of chances to get in Gina’s ear while breaking bread and drinking wine with Sicily’s top tour guide, Carmel. Trust me, this is a photographer’s AND foodie’s dream tour! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity."
